To sign up a patient to the app in Carer Mode, who is being cared for by another app user using an activation code, please follow these steps:
- In the left-hand menu, select Patients
- Search for the patient or select from the Recently dispensed customers list
Please note: You may search by name, address, medicare number or date of birth.
- Patients who are NOT previously signed up to App or SMS reminders or Unsubscribed will show Sign Up under User Type. Select Sign up.
- The Sign up patient pop-up will appear with App and Instant Sign-up is preselected. You can also view the patients Drug profile. Select Carer Mode
Please note: Patient information including name, mobile and email will pre-populate from dispense. Mobile and Email address are not required for Carer Mode sign ups.
- Under Patient details enter your Staff initials to indicate that the carer and cared for patient consent to the app sign up
- Select Generate Activation Code to view the 6 character code. Select Print Activation Code to print the code (with instructions) and hand to the carer.
- The carer must enter the code into the app to verify their account.
Please note: Activation Codes expire after 10 days.
What if the customer is already signed up to MedAdvisor?
If a customer already has MedAdvisor, but has decided to start using carer mode, you will be unable to generate an activation code for them.
Instead, you will need to email support@medadvisor.com.au to request we setup carer mode. Please obtain the appropriate consents and provide the patient's names, MedAdvisor IDs (found under the details tab of 'Patient Setup'), and who will be caring, and cared for.
What does the carer need to do?
Once the carer is given their activation code they must follow these steps in the app.
- Select Menu
- Select Settings
- Select Carer mode
- Select ADD PERSON
- Enter the Activation code and the Last name of the person they are caring for
- Select CONTINUE
The cared for patients' profile will appear on the home screen. Carers can order and will receive reminders for the cared for patient.
