Pharmacies participating in NIPVIP can automatically claim for the service payment through the immunisation forms. Please follow these steps:
- In the menu, select Patients
- Search for a patient or select from the recently dispensed list.
- Select Immunisation from the Service drop-down
- To record a NIPVIP vaccination for eligible funded vaccines, select from the field Vaccine Funding Type.
Please note: All immunisations must have the Vaccine Funding Type recorded for AIR. This field is compulsory.
- Under Vaccine Funding Type, choose NIPVIP claimable or Antenatal NIPVIP claimable to automatically claim.
- If an NIP claimable Vaccine Funding Type is selected you will be asked additional questions, Was this vaccination administered to the patient off-site? and, if Yes is selected Where was the vaccine administered? must be answered.
Vaccine Funding Type | Code for AIR | When to use this option |

Antenatal NIPVIP claimable | AEN | Used by NIPVIP participating pharmacies only. Selection will trigger a claim to PPA for vaccines provided under the NIPVIP program, where the patient is pregnant at the time of vaccination. |
NIPVIP claimable | NIP | Used by NIPVIP participating pharmacies only. Selection will trigger a claim to PPA for vaccines provided under the NIPVIP program. |
NIP or commonwealth | NIP | Non-participating pharmacies to use this option for NIP or other commonwealth funded vaccines. |
Other | OTH |
Anything that is not antenatal, NIP or commonwealth or NIPVIP claimable should be entered as Other. Private / State is no longer a selection and has been replaced with Other |
- Selecting NIPVIP claimable or Antenatal NIPVIP claimable will automatically tick the PPA submission required tick box.
- When you select COMPLETE, you will get a confirmation that the claim is successful. All compulsory fields must be filled.
- If a claim has already been completed you will receive a pop-up letting you know that this vaccination type cannot be claimed twice.
